BSME with machine design specialty from Kettering University (GMI when I graduated in 1995). This was a five year program. I graduated with a 98.7 GPA.

Experience

Hastings Manufacturing Company - 1990-1996

I worked Co-op during my time at GMI, wrote my thesis (On coiling and heat shaping of 9254 Steel Piston Rings) during this time, and worked 1-1/2 years full time. I was responsible for fixture/machine design, macro programming in Cad and Windows, CNC programming, including macro based, process design and development, and selection, justification and implementation of new equipment.

Progressive Technologies (1997)

In my time with Progressive, I helped design a cylinder head shot peening line for Caterpillar, worked in the shop assembling components of the same machine, and went to Peoria to help install and debug the system.

V-Tec Systems (1998-2002)

At V-Tec I was the lead designer working on fixture and machine design for primarily Automotive parts poke-a-yoke and assembly, including ultrasonic welding, and leak testing. I also developed the drawing standards and established a computerized BOM and order system that was integrated into our Cad system, which at the time was Cadkey. I designed well over 100 machines in 3d solids while with V-Tec. I programmed and operated a CNC mill while at V-Tec as well.

Hastings Mfg Co (2002-Present)

I returned full circle to be the engineering manager at Hastings Manufacturing. Since my move, the company has undergone bankruptcy and reorganization (2005) and I now work as a process engineer. I design and draw in both Solidworks and ProE. I have written integrated NC programming tools within Microsoft Excel using VBA, as well as continue to program and oversee tooling design for all the CNC equipment we have. I have some experience with FEA using Cosmosworks. I also am responsible for the process development for new products, including some potential new OEM business.
