Currently own and operate a design service business, Northland Design, Inc. I started this business in 1989. I design small automation systems, assembly fixtures and gages, and metal stamping dies (both line and progressive dies).
I worked approximately 10 years at Ex-Cell-O Corp. in Manistee, Michigan. I setup and ran small horizontal and vertical mills, engine and turret lathes, precision grinders, large table type grinders, planers and planer mills, horizontal boring mills, devliegs, and nc boring mills. I was also the night shift group leader.
After college I worked at United Technologies in Traverse City, Michigan as a manufacturing/design engineer. I was responsible for the tooling and workstation design and setup for assembly of electro-mechanical swithes for the automoive industry. I also worked for Bolthouse Machine Corp. in Traverse City, Michigan, were I designed metal stamping dies and some special machines.
